Enough Blogging

Apparently blogging is not on the rise.

According to the BBC and Gartner, most people who would ever start a web blog have already done so.

"Everyone thinks they have something to say, until they're put on stage and asked to say it."

Quite.

Visual Complexity Mosaic

Collective resource on the visualization of complex networks. Manuel Lima documents the efforts of many in describing and untangling complicated information systems - resulting in a beautiful and matrix-like collection of labarynthine information flows - covering topics ranging from biology and transportation to art and social networking.

Music Discovery as Art

If you like Pandora, then you'll enjoy this even more. Musicovery is a French site for discovering new music. It's incredible, beautiful, and easy to use.

Perhaps the most thoughtfully designed music-discovery/internet-radio site around? And a really interesting way to build out visual search. And you can choose to read it in English if French isn't your thing. You can change the track you've landed on by dragging the arrow into other areas: modify by style of music, tempo, and beat - and watch the music selections unfold like multi-colored flowers on the page... follow the trails and links to other artists and songs to discover new music, or click and start again. It's beautiful. I wonder who's going to acquire them?

Small moment in San Francisco

A small beginning. Sunny Sunday afternoon, waiting for a friend in Hayes Valley. Watching the Christo-esque gate and orange flags flicker in the sun.
